Why Your Property Needs Regular Landscaping
Dover's got those big old trees everywhere - which look great but drop tons of leaves. The soil here gets compacted easy, specially in parking lots and around walkways. And with how wet spring gets? Weeds grow like crazy if you dont stay on top of them.
Most property owners we work with are just to busy to handle this stuff themselves. You got a business to run or tenants to deal with. Last thing you need is spending your Saturday pulling weeds or raking leaves. Plus, when you let things go to long, it gets way worse and costs more to fix later.
A property that looks neglected tells customers and tenants you don't care. Dead plants by the entrance, weeds in the mulch beds, piles of old leaves - it all adds up to a bad first impression. We've seen plenty of Dover properties loose good tenants because the outside looked like nobody was taking care of it.
Our Premier Landscaping Services
Spring Clean-Up
After winter ends, your property probably looks pretty rough. Theres dead branches everywhere, leftover leaves that got matted down under the snow, and all the mulch beds are a mess. Spring clean-up is when we come through and basically hit the reset button on your landscaping.
We rake out all the dead stuff from your beds and clear out any debris that piled up over winter. Lots of properties around Dover center get branches and sticks blown into corners and against fences - we get all that out of there. Then we edge the beds so they look clean and defined again, not all scraggly and overgrown into the grass.
The grass itself usually needs attention to. We clear off any remaining leaves or thatch that's smothering it. Sometimes we gotta reseed bare spots where the snow sat to long or where salt runoff killed the grass near driveways and sidewalks.
Most Dover properties need this done by mid-April at the latest. If you wait to long, your already behind for the growing season and everything looks shabby when customers start coming around more. We usually book up pretty quick in spring, so property owners who call early get on the schedule first.
Spring cleanup usually takes a full day or two depending on how big your property is and how much got ignored over winter. But when were done, it looks like a completely different place.
Fall Clean-Up
Fall might be even more important then spring for Dover properties. With all the oak and maple trees around here, you can get buried in leaves real quick. We've seen properties over near Channing Pond where the leaves were so thick you couldn't even see the walkways.
We don't just blow the leaves around - we actually remove them from your property. A lot of guys will blow them into the woods or push them to the edge, but that just creates problems later when they blow back. We bag everything up or haul it away completely.
Timing matters alot with fall cleanup. If you do it to early, more leaves fall and you got to do it again. Wait to long and the leaves get wet and matted down, which makes them way harder to deal with. Plus wet leaves kill grass underneath and create perfect spots for mold and fungus.
We usually do fall cleanup in two or three visits depending on your trees. First pass gets the early dropping trees, then we come back when the oaks finally let go. Some properties need a final pass in early December to get the stragglers.
Besides leaves, fall cleanup includes cutting back perennials that died off and removing any annuals that froze. We also clear out gutters if you want - lots of property owners don't realize how much leaves in gutters can mess up there buildings drainage.
Bi-Weekly Weeding
This is probly the service that makes the biggest difference in how your property looks day-to-day. Weeds are relentless around here, specially in late spring and summer. Miss a couple weeks and suddenly your nice mulch beds are full of crabgrass and dandelions.
We come every two weeks during growing season - usually late April through October. That's often enough to catch weeds before they get established but not so often that were wasting your money.
Hand-pulling is how we do most of it. Yeah its more work then just spraying chemicals, but it works better for keeping weeds from coming back. When you pull them out by the root, they don't just grow right back like they do when you cut them off at ground level.
The problem areas are usually around the edges - where mulch meets grass, around trees, and along foundations. Weeds love those spots because the mowers cant get in there good. We make sure to get in all those tight spaces where weeds hide out.
Bi-weekly weeding also lets us spot other problems early. We'll notice if your irrigation isn't reaching certain areas, or if you got pest damage starting, or if plants are dying. Catching stuff early saves money compared to waiting until everything's a disaster.
Some property owners try to handle weeding themselves or have there maintenance guy do it. But unless someone's out there consistently every couple weeks, the weeds win.

Landscaping FAQ's
How much does spring cleanup cost for a commercial property in Dover?
It depends on the size of your property and how much work it needs, but most commercial properties run between $800 and $2,500. If you got a small office building with just a few beds, your probably on the lower end. Bigger properties or ones that were neglected over winter cost more because theres just more work to do. We can give you an exact price after we see your property.
Do you service properties near Powisset Farm and that area?
Yeah we work all over Dover including the Powisset area. That part of town tends to have bigger properties with more trees, so fall cleanup usually takes longer there. But we've got the equipment and crew to handle it no problem.
What happens if it rains on our scheduled day?
We'll call you the day before if weathers gonna be a problem and reschedule for the next available day. Usually thats only a day or two delay. Spring cleanup we can sometimes do in light rain, but for weeding we need it dry so were not compacting your soil and making a muddy mess.
